Coronavirus (COVID-19) – MLA Group Statement

With the progression of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the MLA Group (MLA and Sold Secure) are doing everything we can to help reduce the spread of the virus.

We wanted to update you on the actions we have been taking to support our members, customers and our colleagues.

What are The MLA Group doing?

The safety of our members, customers and work colleagues is always our top priority. We are monitoring the situation closely and following the latest advice from the UK Government.

To protect your safety we are taking the following actions:

1. Postponing All Training and Exams

• We are postponing all training and exams planned to be held at the MLA during the rest of March and April.
• We will be monitoring Government advice before deciding on what to do for May and thereafter

2. Sold Secure

• Sold Secure will continue testing and we encourage all customers to continue submitting their products.
• We ask customers not to witness testing and to simply drop the products off, or get them delivered

3. MLA and Sold Secure Office

• We will be running the office on a “minimal crew” basis with the majority of staff working from home on a rota basis.
• All communications methods will still function and members and customers should see very minimal disruption.
• We are ensuring there is extra soap as well as the provision of hand sanitiser throughout our building.
• Staff are being reminded of the importance of maintaining good hand hygiene in line with advice from Public Health England.
• Where possible face to face meetings are being cancelled, and replaced with telephone / “online” virtual meetings

What should visitors to MLA HQ do?

Following recent Government advice, we are actively encouraging people not to visit the MLA or Sold Secure.

As mentioned above both companies will continue to be open and operate and Sold Secure will carry on testing but we encourage members and customers to stay away.

We’re doing this in order to keep members, customers and staff safe.

Where visits are absolutely unavoidable then visitors are asked to follow these guidelines whilst in our building:

• Wash your hands with soap and water frequently for at least 20 seconds
• Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
• Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards.
